These charming and rustic Beach Bum Bungalows were built in 1910 in the historic Nye Beach district in Newport. The infamous "Deep Sea John" purchased the bungalows in 1965 and operated them until he passed in 2015. They are now owned and operated by his daughter Gina and her husband Alan, a commercial fisherman.

The Sunset Cottage (# 7) sits right on the cliff, overlooking the majestic Pacific Ocean and in the heart of the historic Nye Beach district. Watch the sun go down from the luxury of your own oceanfront cottage by the sea.
The Lighthouse Cottage (# 8) also sits right on the bluff and overlooks the majestic Pacific ocean with a view of the Yaquina Head lighthouse!
Mermaid Manor (# 6) is just a stones throw from the bluff. A very cozy beach cottage with a mermaid theme, peaks of the ocean form kitchen and dining area and located inside the Beach Bum Bungalows complex with access to the common courtyards.
Amenities
Our bungalows have internet, television, come fully furnished, with cozy gas fire stoves and kitchens or kitchenettes. All are walking distance to the beach, the trendy Nye Beach shops, restaurants, bakeries and Pubs as well as art galleries, visual arts center and preforming arts center as well as local nightlife!

Alan & Gina Baird have been operating the bungalows since June, 2021. Alan is from Scotland and is a commercial fisherman with a boat, the F/V Molly docked on Port Dock 5 in Newport's charming harbor. Drop by!
Gina was raised here in the bungalow # 3 and has seen a lot of changes to Nye Beach in the last 50 years! She currently manages the bungalows and raises Scottish Deerhounds.
